Emiko L. Kasprzyk, founder and director of ELK Event Design & Production - and true Renaissance woman - has always created her own world!
After graduating with a degree in Foreign Cultural Affairs, Emiko began her career as most do, by earning an additional certification to work in a field completely unrelated to her hard-earned and very expensive college degree. In her case, she started work as a project manager in Boston’s telecomm industry back in the day when there was an actual telecomm industry to speak of…
A natural creative, Emiko longed for an artistic outlet so after five years she quit her techie job, packed up the car, and drove cross-country to San Diego, CA to begin a fine arts degree in Interior Design. This time she managed to put her studies to good use, working in Southern California’s home-building industry for nearly a decade before a wild turn of events eventually landed her in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Argentina provided the chance for her to finally put her original degree to use as something of a cultural attache - albeit unofficial - while teaching English.
Completing a two and a half year sojourn in South America, Emiko returned home to Boston where she took a server position with a catering company, thereby indulging her passion as a foodie and embarking on a journey towards a love of all things events-related. She worked her way through the ranks, earning a catering sales position and subsequently accepting the role of event producer and floral designer with an established events production company. As a producer, she expanded on her knowledge of the events industry as well as developed her artistry as a floral designer.
After a long and twisting journey, Emiko has finally discovered what she wants to be when she grows up! Now creating her world as her own event design entity, Emiko’s varied path as a project manager, interior designer, cultural ambassador (unofficial), caterer, event producer and florist affords her not only a critical eye for detail and impeccable organizational skills but also a vast wealth of experience to draw upon as she helps you create your world!
